Aesthetics are one area where conlangers are pioneering linguistic innovation quite unlike that of prior eras. The most clichéd kind of project in conlanging is something like an Elvish lush with mellifluous liquids and sibilants, an Orkish laden with pharyngeals and glottal stops, or some keysmash-y, ostensibly alien tongue.
