Friedmann and his mother moved to Nashville in 1986, when Friedmann was seventeen. Toni Jo’s mother lived there, and Victor was still working in Saudi Arabia. Officers discovered a cache of handguns. Friedmann claimed that he’d found them. He wasn’t arrested, but Toni Jo was frightened enough to relinquish custody of him and return to Saudi Arabia.
